ANZAC HONOURING OUR FALLEN HEROES
" BROTHERS IN ARMS"
If a picture tells a thousand words, this photograph tells a thousand stories. The photo was taken after a church service held before training. On 10th January 1915, prior to leaving Egypt a photograph of officers and men of the 11th Battalion was taken at the Great Pyramid of Cheops. After arriving in Egypt the previous month, the Battalion had camped and trained at Mena, ten miles from Cairo, at the foot of the Great Pyramid of Cheops.
